ECONOMY STILL TANKING
Well folks, unemployment is back up to 9.1 percent, proving once again
that massive government spending doesn’t stimulate anything. Economists
are predicting a double dip recession, but many Americans feel the
economy never came out of the first recession as unemployment hasn’t
dropped below 8 percent since the beginning of President Obama’s first
term. The private sector only added 57,000 jobs, far less than the
nearly 177,000 jobs that were predicted to be added as 14 million
Americans are unemployed. Recent college graduates face 21-1 odds on
getting a job and teenagers face 24 percent unemployment going into the
summer months. On top of it all, President Obama’s Chief Economic
Advisor Austan Goolsbee stepped down this week, saying he will return
to his position at the University of Chicago. This leaves Obama with no
economic advisors who were around for the stimulus and the past three
years of economic disaster. Hopefully, Obama will realize it’s time to
change course, away from Keynesian economics.
WEINER SPILLS THE BEANS
Oh Anthony Weiner. The Democrat Representative, who claimed his Twitter
feed was hacked after a photo of his private parts was publicly sent to
a young Seattle woman over Memorial Day weekend, finally came clean in
a press conference saying the photo was of him and that he sent it to
the woman as part of “joke.” For a week, Weiner had denied that he had
sent the photo but could not say with “certitude” whether the photo was
indeed of him. As it turns out, it was. More photos of Weiner shirtless
have been released as women are coming forward with more information.
Weiner apologized during a press conference to Andrew Breitbart, the
media, his wife and his constituents for lying and trying to cover up
the incident. Weiner is refusing to resign from his position in
Congress and Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi has called for a
Congressional investigation into his actions.
NEW DNC CHAIR A TOTAL EMBARRASSMENT
DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s latest blunder comes after a
series of gaffes, but this time Schultz is taking us back in time,
literally, when discussing the reform of voting laws this week.
“If you go back to the year 2000, when we had an obvious disaster and -
and saw that our voting process needed refinement, and we did that in
the America Votes Act and made sure that we could iron out those kinks,
now you have the Republicans, who want to literally drag us all the way
back to Jim Crow laws and literally - and very transparently - block
access to the polls to voters who are more likely to vote Democratic
candidates than Republican candidates. And it’s nothing short of that
blatant.”
As she invokes Jim Crow, remember Schultz comments about the republican
stance on illegal immigration.
“The Republican solution that I’ve seen in the last three years is that
we should just pack them all up and ship them back to their own
countries, and that in fact it should be a crime and we should arrest
them all.”
In case you are wondering, illegal immigration or crossing into the
United States without permission is in fact, a federal offense.
SENATE DEMS STILL AVOIDING THE BUDGET
It’s day 769 since the Democrat controlled Senate has even introduced a
budget and it doesn’t look like Majority Leader Harry Reid plans on
speeding up the process to get the job done, even though it is required
by law. Now, instead of producing a budget, Democratic senators are
demanding that Vice President Joe Biden declare Medicare untouchable in
future budget negotiations. (Bear in mind that the program runs out of
money in 2024 if nothing is done, and no, they haven’t come up with an
alternative yet to the Ryan Budget, which was passed through the House
months ago.) The Senate Democrats’ plan still seems to be: sit back,
relax and demonize republicans as a distraction from actually doing
real work. Progress.
ROMNEY THINKS HUMANS CAUSE THE EARTH TO WARM
GOP Presidential candidate Mitt Romney didn’t get the White House 32
page long slide show memo explaining that the new correct term to
describe big government environmental power grabs surrounding global
warming and climate change, is global climate disruption, or the news
about global climate disruption being a total scam through ClimateGate.
During a town hall style meeting, Romney expressed concern over human
impact on global warming and climate change, saying the earth is
getting warmer because of humans, but he can’t prove it.
“I believe the world is getting warmer. I can’t prove that, but I
believe basically what I read that the world is getting warmer,” he
said. “I believe humans contribute to that. I don’t know how much our
contribution is to that because I know there have been periods of
greater heat and warmth in the past but I believe that we contribute to
that. And so I think it is important for us to reduce our emissions of
pollutants and green house gases that may well be significant
contributors to the climate change and the global warming that we are
seeing.”
QUOTE OF THE WEEK
Andrew Breitbart speaking at Rep. Anthony Weiner’s press conference
about why he won’t release a photo of the Congressman that he describes
as extremely explicit and vulgar: “I’m doing this to save his family.”
