A friend sent me a link to a video. I hate video emails… I don’t have
time to watch. I can get the gist of 99.9 percent of all the other
emails with a 5-second (or less) glance.
I can’t get that with a video. You have to wait for it to load. Nine
times out of ten I have to have the sound turned way down because my
“office” is in a family area… babies napping or playing plastic pianos,
tv blaring, family discussions… whatever.
The standard thing in any home with an active family today, I guess.
And it takes forever to get the gist of a video. I really don’t have
the time, so I usually just delete it and move on.
Something made me watch this one. There are two distinct messages in
it. One of them is decidedly partisan as it is directed at our sitting
president; the other, however, is a patriotic message about “We the
People”… what our country was founded on, what we are about… WHO we are.
I loved the patriotic message; I had issues with the partisan one. Some
of the points in it I disagreed with. And as passionate as I am about
not wanting to continue down the path that President Obama seems to be
taking us, I don’t put much more stock in the partisan aspect of it
than I do the 20-second attack ads you see on television.
If you have received the email, you might have seen “released 4 days
ago, 6 million hits already.” Nope. Copyright 2010… who knows when it
was released? Also, it says it was put out by Oklahoma State
University. Not possible and vehemently denied by OSU (do a Google
search). No publicly funded university would put itself in that kind of
jeopardy.
American patriotism message? Five stars. Video and production quality?
Five stars. Partisan message? Zero stars. Well… maybe two stars.
That’s my opinion, but as the hated Fox News always says… we report,
you decide. Check it out for yourself if you wish, by clicking here.
