Tea Party Terrorists
July 6, 2013
by Carolyn Elkins
Rasmussen
recently conducted a new telephone
survey , which included 1,000 likely voters.
The survey asked questions ranging from
nuclear weapons, to who is considered
the nation’s top terrorist threat.
Twenty-six
percent of those who approve of
Obama’s performance believe that the Tea Party is the biggest terror
threat to
the US. This is compared to the likely voters of whom thirteen percent
believe
the same. Among
those who approve of
Obama’s job performance, just twenty-nine percent see ‘radical’ Muslims
as the
bigger threat. Among those who strongly approve of Obama, more fear the
Tea
Party than radical Muslims.
Among
those who earn six-figures, twenty-one
percent believe the Tea Party a bigger threat than the Occupy Wall
street
Movement. Interesting,
since the
Occupiers were targeting the rich, only two percent of those earning
six-figures or more say the Occupy movement is a bigger threat. Of those earning
$30,000.00 or less, twelve
percent say the Tea Party is a bigger threat compared to seven percent
says the
same of the Occupy Movement. Of
Government employees, twenty percent see the Tea Party as a threat
while twelve
percent of private sector employees believe the same.
I
may not be an official member of the Tea
Party, but I do consider myself a strong supporter of them and other
like-minded groups. I share all the same concerns as many of the people
who are
members. I have
many friends who are Tea
Party members in different states.
Do I
feel threatened by them more than so called radical Muslims? No way! Knowing what I have
learned in my past 15 or
so years of studying Islam, I know that it is complete ignorance on the
parts
of those who do view the Tea Party as a bigger threat.
Seeing the rude, outrageous,
hypocritical,
and disgusting behaviors of many of the Wall Street Occupiers in
various cities
a few summers ago, I know it is ignorance on the part of those who
believe the
Tea Party is more dangerous.
The
literal meaning of ignorance is “lack of
knowledge or information”. Obviously,
based on the variety of people answering the pollster questions,
ignorance
knows no social or economic boundaries.
Perhaps it’s because of the way people
get their information. Considering
the main stream news sources,
most of these folks I would dare say watch mainly MSNBC or the other
alphabet
stations. Obvious
also is the fact that
those who believe Obama is doing a good job, these folks must be
democrats. How has
the mainstream media portrayed the
Tea Party? How have democrats and democrat politicians viewed the Tea
Party?
We’ve
been called racist by liberals of all
shades of skin tones–but are we racist? Liberal groups have tried to
paint us
as such, but are we? How
is it possible
that democrats and progressives can turn what Black Conservatives say
into
something that they portray as naïve, meaning that black folks aren’t
educated
enough to think for themselves, yet we’re the racist ones?
We’ve
been called violent and hateful.
Interesting though, considering the sources. Again, we’re being called
the
hateful ones by folks like these, and these and these. And then there
are these
and these. And there are these, who actually spoke the same day at the
same
rally as Obama. And
still we are told to
go to hell from those who are supposed to represent all the people.
What
about the media? What are they telling
their viewers about the Tea Party other than the same mantra, that
we’re gun
toting racists bent on violence?
The
left has been painting the Tea Party as
terrorists for a few years now, so it’s not surprising that many people
who
only watch MSNBC and listen to progressives would eventually believe it. But who is the Tea Party? The Tea Party is
the military veteran, who’s
tired of an ever-growing far reaching government.
It’s the college kids who don’t want to
see
the freedoms their grandparents had being taken from them. It’s the mom of an ill
child who knows that
the government has no business meddling with health insurance. It’s the
family
down the road who are sick of working hard, only to see more and more
of their
hard earned money being taken by the government to waste. It’s the
grandparents
who don’t want to see their grandkids having to pay trillions of
dollars in
debt because of irresponsible out of touch government spending. They are your neighbor,
your friends, and
your coworkers. Those who want to work to provide a life for their
families,
without the government taking what they work hard for to give it to
someone who
won’t work. It’s every day Americans of all walks of life, from all
ethnicities, all races, and all social and economic levels who want to
return
to the original intent of our founder’s ideas of government and a
return to respect
given to the Constitution.
Obama
once said, “But we can’t expect to solve
our problems if all we do is tear each other down. You can disagree
with a
certain policy without demonizing the person who espouses it. You can
question
somebody’s views and their judgment without questioning their motives
or their
patriotism.”
Sounds
good doesn’t it? Too
bad though that he has also said,
“They’re going to try to scare people. They’re going to try to say that
‘that
Obama is a scary guy’ … Don’t give in…I won’t but that sounded pretty
scary.
You’re a tough guy, if they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun…”
So,
are we terrorists to be feared more than
militant Muslims? I
think Joe Wilson
explains it best, reminding who real terrorists are (see the video at
Politichicks).
We
need to take the narrative back, folks, and
start shining the light on the ignorance and hypocrisy of the
progressive Left
and telling people what it’s really all about:
government-contolled propaganda that is
intentionally painting a huge
portion of the American citizenry as something they are not and never
will be.
