God… Guts… and Glory…
From a CNO Reader
These
may very well be the most important words
I have ever written. They are inspired by a very
close friend of
mine. One who is always there for me.
God…
Guts… and Glory…
Sounds
great. Even a bit patriotic…
doesn’t it?
Millions
and millions of people live in an
everyday world of God, Guts and Glory.
The
ones I want to talk about are the ones who
humbly do so.
Men
and women who make a difference.
People
who wake up each morning… who…
Thank God for
the day before them…
who…
Have
the Guts to begin that day with love,
respect, charity and kindness in their heart.
I
want to talk about those who reflect what’s
best in humanity.
These
are men and women who Glory in
sharing. When I say sharing… I mean sharing themselves with
others in a
way that affects change.
It
takes Guts to open yourself up that
way. It takes the love of God from within you.
Looking
back over the past fifty years I have
seen dramatic change in “people.” Life certainly is not
simple
anymore. Our daily pace has sped up to a competitiveness
among us that
winning is all that matters… or… that losing is what’s
expected.
Political
Correctness has changed how we live
our lives.
There
was actually a time in this country when
a person could speak… carry on a conversation with other people and
[not] have
to think and choose their words for fear of offending
someone. Those days
are long gone.
There
was actually a time in this country when
children in public school began each day with a prayer and pledging
allegiance
to our American Flag and the United States of America. Also
gone.
There
was a time in this country when its
population was All-American… not defined as a bunch of different ethnic
groups
battling for their own selfish agendas.
What
in the hell happened to us? Where
did we go wrong? Who is to blame?
Some
say that the great American “experiment”
as some want to call it was doomed.
At
it’s very birth because “people” are
self-centered and greedy. They want what they want and even
if it means
taking it from someone else. Maybe so…
But
I have faith in the goodness of
humanity. I believe that for every self-centered greedy
person in this
country there are ten who are not. I believe that good always
wins out in
the end. Actually… I “know” that good wins in the end.
God…
Guts… and Glory!
God
Almighty… and I put a big emphases on the
word Almighty… promises me that good has “already” won. Jesus
died on the
cross defeating evil once and for all. The choice you and I
have is to
either walk in victory or walk in defeat. Yes… it is a choice.
That’s
where the Guts part comes in. Do
you have the Guts to walk in victory? Do you have the Guts to
“talk”
victoriously? Are you one of the “good” things about life in
America?
Guts
is a graphic word. It represents
putting yourself out there where evil can take daily pot-shots at
you. It
means going against the political-correct actions of many, to be in
favor of
the plain ole truth. It means standing up and challenging
evil at its
very core.
Evil
cannot win over someone who walks and
talks in Victory. Not only did Jesus defeat evil at the
Cross… He left
behind His Holy Spirit to live inside of us… Evil cannot occupy
where God dwells!
Anyone
can live in victory and have Glory in
their life. It’s a choice!
Living
a God… Guts… and Glory life is no harder
than living in defeat. It’s a matter of choice.
A
God… Guts… and Glory life means that you
choose to succeed in every aspect of your life.
A
God… Guts… and Glory life is one where you
already know the outcome. It’s nice knowing!
Each
of us goes about our daily lives
differently. We come into and out of other people’s
lives. What
kind of impact will you make in someone's life today?
Positive… negative…
indifferent? It’s your choice.
Choose
positive… let God… Guts… and Glory be
your motto today… and tomorrow.
When you are on fire with desire...
People will come from miles around...
Just to watch you burn!
