Swank elected next
KCI Division 3 Lt. Governor
Greenville High School sophomore Natasha Swank has been elected Kiwanis
International Ohio District’s next Division 3 Lt. Governor. She will be
installed at the District Convention in Columbus on April 17.
Swank takes the reins from retiring Lt. Governor Mariah Reitz, who
served for the 2010-2011 school year. Reitz, who will be a senior next
year, was the first Greenville High School student elected to KCI
office in several decades. The Division 3 Lt. Governor is responsible
for working with local Key Clubs at Piqua, Troy, Miami East, Covington,
Tri-Village and Greenville.
One of Reitz’ year-end responsibilities as Lt. Governor will be
coordinating a Division 3 “Box City” event in early April at Greenville
High School to increase awareness for the plight of the homeless. All
local clubs will be involved, and all local high school students will
be invited to participate.
Key Club International is the world’s largest student-led community
service organization, with more members and clubs than its sponsoring
Kiwanis International. The GHS club is sponsored by Greenville Kiwanis.
Key Clubs are dedicated to “Community Service, Leadership and Character
Building” for high school students.
Swank has been a member of GHS Key Club since her freshman year,
compiling more than 65 hours of community service. While active with
the club both years, this will be her first move into a leadership role
with the organization.
