Senior Scribes
Scholarship Fund Seeking Support from Local School Districts
January 17, 2011
Dear Superintendent,
This request is being sent to every Superintendent in Darke County. The
Senior Scribes are asking for your help in two related areas.
First, we need a contact person from each School District that will act
as a source of information relative to students that enjoy and are
active in areas related to journalism. It is a surprising reality to
the Senior Scribes that this currently means many things such as
photography – both still and video, graphic arts, computer skills,
poetry and even written efforts.
Second, the County News Online is a fund raising effort sponsored by
the Senior Scribes Scholarship Fund. The issue of the County News
Online below shows a link for Teen Scribes in the blue section
below the head banner. It is our goal to have active input from all
Darke County Schools. As can be seen on the attachment, the Scholarship
Fund has been successful in granting scholarships in the field of
journalism and hope to continue. An essential aspect of our evaluation
of applicants is a review of published articles. The County News
Online furnishes each teen an opportunity to publish stories or
features about your school. We think it is a win – win situation.
Your response will enable representation from all Darke County High
Schools.
Thank you,
Al Bliss
