Kids Learning Place needs volunteers
Programs for childhood education are important for helping children
learn and grow. Kids Learning Place, sponsored by Council on Rural
Services, is one of these programs that serves many local families.
Council on Rural Services is looking for up to 15 volunteers to
directly help staff and help provide a safe, clean environment for
children in Bradford, Greenville and Union City locations. Classroom
assistants will help with miscellaneous on-going classroom maintenance
projects such as filling glue, replenishing art supplies area, cutting
out materials for projects, washing toys, organizing cabinets, printing
photographs and helping with artwork/bulletin board. Volunteers may
also assist with every-day cleaning tasks to ensure safe environment
for children, prepare afternoon activities and work with children
during play. Volunteers, who should be at least 15 years old, should be
able to work with people of all ages but especially with young
children. They should also be able to work independently and have
mobility to bend and lift up to 20 pounds. A criminal background check,
TB skin test and physical are provided. This position is available on a
flexible basis during weekdays, between the hours of 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.

more effective in serving children and their parents in the community,”
