Birthday Cake to 100 year old
State of the Heart Hospice
State of the Heart Hospice staff members delivered a birthday cake
Thursday, May 19, to Leah Rhoades who turned 100 years old that
day. “My, this is so special,” said Leah when the cake was
delivered by State of the Heart Chaplain John Nunnally. “I don’t
want to cut it for awhile. I want people to see it,” added the
life-long Darke County resident.
The cake was baked by a State of the Heart volunteer. Leah, a
State of the Heart patient, celebrated her birthday at a party Saturday
at the Brethrens Retirement Community where she resides. The
State of the Heart staff sang “Happy Birthday” to Leah, who later
recalled she had saved some black raspberry ice cream. “I think I will
have that with my cake,” she said.
