Olmsted Falls High School Academic Team beats Copley for top honors
COLUMBUS – This week, State Senator Tom Patton (R – Strongsville)
hosted members of the Olmsted Falls High School Academic Team at the
Ohio Statehouse. The high-schoolers recently competed in the National
Academic Quiz Tournament (NAQT) State Championship on the campus of The
Ohio State University in Columbus.
Olmsted Falls captured the state crown after a close championship tilt
against Copley High School.
“The dedication and intellect demonstrated by these students are a
tribute to their families and community. It was a joy getting to speak
with each of them and I look forward to following all of their future
successes,” said Senator Patton.
The Olmsted Falls High School Academic Team consists of: Jim Coury
(Team Captain), Mike Coury, Sohan Vartak, and Marty Mendenhall.
Overseeing the team’s championship campaign was Coach Rhonna Smith and
Assistant Coach Joe Gaela.
