Edison Offers Web Resources to Help with
Job Searches and Career Direction
Edison Community College’s Career Services Department strives to meet
the needs of area job seekers and employers through career expos, one
on one counseling and its enhanced career services website.
Through its web component, the Career Services Department is now able
to assist students and community members as they search for job
openings in their field and prepare for interviews.
“Career Services at Edison is on the front lines of national and
state-wide organizations to continually assess, adapt, and deliver the
best resources to serve our students and stakeholders,” said Pam
Gibellino, coordinator of career services at Edison. “It is
particularly rewarding at this time of year to assist graduates as they
complete their program of study and look forward to a rewarding career.”
The web component, which can be found at www.edisonohio.edu/career,
provides detailed information and recommendations on resume building
and interviewing skills, in addition to providing a searchable database
for thousands of job openings in the surrounding areas and across the
nation. Users can also create and manage online resumes to post for
positions offered on the web and receive regular updates for job
openings in their field.
Edison students and alumni have the added ability to access the Edison
College Central job board, that includes hundreds of jobs and
internship opportunities posted to our college and surrounding areas.
Career Planning Assessments are available and grounded in the
highly-acclaimed Myers-Briggs personality assessment and Holland career
assessment, two of the most widely-used instruments to help match
individual uniqueness to career direction. Trained career advisors can
provide personalized interpretation and further guidance.
The Edison Career Services seeks to help individuals identify and reach
their career potential, as well as assist them in finding employment.
In March, the department holds an annual career expo that in 2011
brought in more than 50 organizations and 500 job seekers to the Piqua
campus. All services provided are free.
