Christmas
Poinsettia Fundraiser
Program 2011 Kicks Off!
November 15, 2011
Poinsettias
are a Christmas tradition
and were first introduced to the United States in 1825 by Joel Roberts
Poinsett. They have
been bred over the
years to bring you today’s compact well branched plants with new
stunning
colors. Four color
choices are being
offered for sale by the Cancer Association of Darke County. Jingle Bells is a
wonderful red with large
splashes of pink through the colorful bracts.
Also available will be the traditional colors
of pink, red and white.
100%
of money made from their
fundraisers stays in Darke County to provide services to any Darke
County
resident who is diagnosed with cancer.
Services can begin on the first day you
contact them. During
the cancer patient and their families
difficult time the Cancer Association of Darke County , picks up after
insurance and other benefits, to
provide
or help with transportation, medications, wigs or hairpieces,
nutritional
supplements, monthly support meetings, and many other expenses.
This
year the Cancer Association of
Darke County is joining up with Star Greenhouses, Inc. to bring you
poinsettias that are grown right here in Darke
County at their
greenhouses located 14 miles north of Greenville, OH
on US Route 127.
We would like to mention that Star
Greenhouses is a family run business that has been operating since 1996
and is
owned by Mark & Donna DeMange.
Their son Eric has been a part of the business
since they began and in
2009 his wife Jennifer also joined the business full time.
They say they are proud to
help local
non-profit groups raise money to make a difference in so many ways, for
so many
people.
Please
help the Cancer Association of Darke
County by purchasing poinsettias this year.
