One
Hundred Years of COTERIE
by Marianne Clark, Senior Scribe
November 5, 2011
On
October 19 of this year a very
special meeting was held in the loft room of Montage. Ten ladies, all
residing
in the Greenville area, met to renew past relationships and to
celebrate one
hundred years of COTERIE.
The
COTERIE goes back to 1911 when a
small group of ladies from the Southwest part of Greenville decided to
get
together whenever they could just to keep in touch, exchange receipts
and to
share family stories.
The
COTERIE disbanded several years
ago but a reunion was planned to celebrate those one hundred years.
Everyone
enjoyed a time of memorabilia,
with pictures of past gatherings. A lovely display of desserts was on
display
to choose from, along with coffee, tea or soft drinks. It was exciting
to be
present to celebrate such a prestigious occassion. One hundred years is
a long
time to keep such a group together.
