GHS Key Club, Student Council Service - High School groups help FISH serve community
The Greenville High School Key Club and Student Council joined forces on the afternoon of Oct. 30th to “Trick or Treat” for fish. About 25 young people gathered at the high school and mapped out their territories. At 2 p.m. they broke into groups ranging from three to five students, and headed to their planned sections of Greenville.
Two hours later they loaded several hundred dollars worth of canned and other non-perishable foods for delivery to the community food bank.
These groups have done this project previously, and this year is no different. The students go house to house and collect food, that will in turn be given to “FISH”. Thanks to the community for their efforts in helping make this service event a success. Look for us again next year!!
Next on the agenda of these young people? Rake and Run. Students grab their rakes, head to homes in the community and rake the leaves that have yet to be set out for pickup. While homeowners appreciate their efforts, they don’t want thanks. They just want to serve, so they rake the yard and “run” to the next... hence the phrase... “Rake AND Run.”
Enjoy the photos.
