GHS Hosts Leadership
Conference for local schools
The Greenville High School hosted a Leadership Conference on Tuesday,
Sept. 20th, held at Greenville Grace Brethren. Schools in Darke
County and surrounding areas were invited to attend and bring up to
eight student leaders. In attendance were representatives from
Bradford, Celina, Greenville, St. Henry, Tipp City, and Tri-Village
along with their advisor and/or administrator. Welcoming all
groups at the door were Greenville High School Student Council Members,
Mrs. Carol Paul, advisor, and Mr. Jackson from U-Give was introducing
himself to all.
A decision was made to host the conference last year after attending
the Anthony Munoz Leadership Conference in the fall. We had
learned great things and ideas on leadership and service, and wanted
the opportunity to share it with others by hosting an event in our
area. Our theme “Why Unite” was focusing on “How to promote
Spirit, Pride and Unity in Schools and Community”.
Our Keynote Speaker was Mr. Nick Jackson from UGive, along with Mr.
Danny Wright from Grace Brethren. Our speakers dealt a lot with
how to be and what makes a great leader, as well as learning that
service to others is a big part of leadership. A great leader not
only listens, but serves those around him to create new leaders.
This in turn creates a partnership with all those around him, in our
schools, and in our community.
Thanks to Mr. Danny Wright and Greenville Grace Brethren for allowing
us the use of their facility, as well Greenville City Schools for
allowing us the opportunity to become better leaders, and the chance to
share with others.
