HOPE Foundation Funds Family Theater Programming

Darke County Center for the Arts...

Darke County Center for the Arts is pleased to have recently received a contribution from the HOPE Foundation of Darke County, supporting Family Theater Series programming in the 2009/2010 season.  HOPE Foundation administers the Jean Louise Thieme Children’s Theater Fund.  A lifelong interest in and support for the arts led Jean Louise Thieme to establish a Children’s Theater Fund in 1987 for the purpose of “assuring that the children of this rural county shall always have the opportunity to experience high quality professional programming.”

Funds from this donation are used by Darke County Center for the Arts to help underwrite the cost of bringing high quality artistic performances to Greenville.  Programs are selected for young children and their families to entertain, inspire creativity, educate, and encourage appreciation of cultural diversity.  According to Julie Strait, “DCCA is proud to be able to keep ticket prices low thanks to donations received from the HOPE Foundation and other community supporters.”

DCCA’s 2010-2011 Family Theater Series will include ArtsPower’s The Rainbow Fish; Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia will present Frederick, Swimming and Inch by Inch; and Leland Faulkner, a professional shadowgraph artist, skilled mime and master conjurer, will amaze the audience with his World of Wonders!

Series tickets, including all three performances, are $12; individual show tickets are $5 each.  Contact DCCA at 937-547-0908 or dcca@centerforarts.net to order tickets or stop by the DCCA office on the third floor of the Greenville Public Library.  Office hours are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 10 am – 12 noon and 12:30 - 3:30 pm.

The HOPE Foundation (Helping Other People Excel) is the Darke County Community Foundation.  The Foundation is dedicated to improving the quality of life in Darke County by helping donors meet their charitable objectives and helping support non-profit organizations like the Darke County Center for the Arts.  For further information on the HOPE Foundation, call 548-HOPE.  The office is located at 201 W.
