Greenville Eagles has
busy weekend
FOE 2177…
The Greenville Fraternal Order of Eagles had a busy weekend recently as
it provided lunch to hundreds Greenville Car Show visitors and
participants on Saturday, and hosted lunch to its Greenville Bowling
Team and Annual District 15 Meeting on Sunday.
During the Car Show Saturday, Eagles volunteers held their annual
tenderloins and fries from noon until 7 p.m., or until sold out. They
were sold out by late afternoon.
The Eagles Bowling Team bowls in tournaments throughout the District
every fall and plans to be in the State Tournament this year. In return
for the Lodge’s sponsorship, the team cooks and serves the member
Wednesday night tenderloins each week. They were welcomed Sunday at
noon with member-sponsored Sloppy Joes.
While District meetings are held at different clubs throughout the
year, FOE 2177 hosts its meeting every September. Ritual Meetings are
held by both the Aerie and the Women’s Auxiliary. Lunch was provided to all participating Lodges in the District.
The Greenville Fraternal Order of Eagles 2177 is a community-based
organization devoted to providing a family atmosphere and activities to
its members, financial support to a variety of community services and
scholarships to member children and grandchildren. Greenville Eagles
sponsors the Annual Independence Day Celebration at its Shade Road
Park, providing fireworks and entertainment to the entire Greenville
and Darke County community.
Anyone over 21 can apply for membership in the Lodge. Applications can
be obtained at FOE Downtown on Third Street.
