VFW presents POW-MIA flag to city

On Friday morning around
10 AM a small but significant
ceremony was held on the Public Square in downtown Greenville. VFW Post 7262 Commander
Scott Reed and VFW
Auxiliary President Lyn Bliss presented a new POW-MIA flag to the city
to fly
on the Circle with the State of Ohio and U.S. flags.
The Veterans of Foreign
Wars has a commitment to forget no
service man or woman and the flag serves to remind us all daily of the
sacrifice our service men and women make every day, especially those
who
haven’t returned.
President Lincoln summed
it up… ”that we here highly resolve that these
dead shall not have died in
vain, that this nation under God shall have a new birth of freedom, and
that
government of the people, by the people, for the people shall not
perish from
the earth.”
