The Easter
Bunny visits Eagles Shade Road
Greenville Eagles 2177…
Last week, the Easter Bunny dropped by Eagles Shade Road and hid eggs
for about 20 children and grandchildren of Eagles members. He came out
a little later to view his handiwork as the “Under 6” group wrapped up
its search.
The children were separated into two groups: the “Under 6” with eggs
mostly in plain sight and the 7-12 group that had to search a little
harder at a different location for their rewards.
Mr. Bunny then took the children inside the Lodge and had them pick
eggs out of a basket. The number inside of each egg gave them a stuffed
bunny to take home.
Eagles volunteers wrapped up the event by providing lunch for the
parents and kids.
The Eagles Shade Road Easter event was a first for the local
organization. Worthy President Steffanie Baker added it to the
different events throughout the year that the Lodge provides for its
members. In addition to its family events, the Greenville Eagles serves
its community through charity giving to local organizations such as the
Darke County Cancer Association, Shriners Burn Centers and Breast
Cancer Awareness.
The Eagles premier offering to the community is its Independence Day
Celebration, held annually at Eagles Shade Road. Last year more than
3,000 people enjoyed food, refreshments, three different bands and the
most spectacular fireworks display in Darke County.
Membership information to the Fraternal Order of Eagles is available in
the Social Room of the downtown location, FOE 2177, on Third Street.
