Darke County Cancer
Association Ring
Toss for Patty & Mark Cotter By Al Bliss
The annual Ring
Toss for the Darke County Cancer Association
dedicated to Patty and Mark Cotter, cancer survivors, took place at the
Dearwester ring toss oval at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The ring toss oval
is
essentially the same configuration as the original game started one
hundred
four (104) years ago.
The first two
contestants were Patty and Mark Cotter. The
competition was accompanied by a loud enthusiastic audience. It
appeared that
Patty, through deep and intense concentration, edged out her husband
but it was
a bit surprising based upon the professional looking glove used by Mark.
A number of folks
joined in the fun of ring toss. Some
contributed a little and some a lot with a total contribution of
$1045.00.
Special recognition should be given to Gregory Peck Sound Service, Karl
Dearwester-Ring Toss, Marks-Sirloin Steaks, Kevin Mabry-Jumbo Iced Tea
and
Grumpy’s for their donations.
Simply as an
afterthought, next year there will be
advertising and fliers distributed to all the vendors because the
vendors are
the major source of contributions.
THANKS FROM DARKE
COUNTY!!!
