Senior Scribes Scholarship Fund
Guests enjoy
60s music at SSSF-Eagles fundraiser
By Jan Boyer
Greenville’s best kept secret is the Saturday evening dance at the
Eagles on Third Street. Surrounded by beautiful holiday lighting,
guests danced to the lively music of the 60s band, Tempest.
A variety of good food from the kitchen and beverages from the bar were
available to be enjoyed while listening or in between dances, as the
band provided danceable music from ballads to music with a more
contemporary beat.
Although the Eagles usually sponsors dances once a month, Saturday
evening’s dance was to benefit the Darke County Senior Scribes
Scholarship Fund. Senior Scribes, a local group of writers, gives
scholarships each year to deserving high school seniors who are
planning to pursue a media related career.
County News Online, www.countynewsonline.org, is the Senior Scribes
main generator of scholarship dollars as businesses subscribe to
advertising in this fast growing on-line news source. Part of
each advertisement goes to the scholarship fund. CNO’s readership
has grown in its two years of existence to 170,000 a month and still
expanding! This makes it quite worthwhile for area businesses to
invest in CNO as an excellent way to put their products and services
before the public.
For future information about similar pleasant evenings, call the Eagles
to get their schedule of upcoming events. And, to get the latest
news round and about the county and state, log on to
www.countynewsonline.org. Both the Eagles and CNO are worth
trying out.
