Free tax
preparation at CAP

Action Partnership, in partnership with The Ohio Benefit Bank, is
pleased to
announce free tax preparation service to the public. Through the
program,
employees at the CAP office in Darke County are now ready to assist
seniors 60+
and low- and moderate-income individuals and families file for tax
credits and
benefits for which they are eligible at no cost.
Households
with Adjusted Gross incomes (AGIs) less than $60,000 may file their
2011 taxes
for free with The Ohio Benefit Bank at CAP. Clients can e-File for
refunds in
as few as seven days or opt to have a print-out to mail on their own.
Direct-deposit service to savings or checking accounts is also
available.
Melissa
Sparks, assistant director at CAP, stated, “We are trying to help
people save
money this tax season and ensure they receive all eligible tax credits,
and we
are pleased to be able to offer this free service.” In addition,
Saturday Tax
Clinics will be offered on Feb. 4th and Feb. 18th from 9am to 1pm. All
tax
services will be served by appointment only. For more details, call the
CAP
office at 937-548-8143 beginning the week of Jan. 23 to schedule an
appointment.
The
Ohio Benefit Bank is a free service
that simplifies the tax filing process and is available for use in
social service
agencies, faith-based institutions, community organizations and private
employer sites.
