Scholarships
available for Public Communications Students

for receipt of applications is March 15 Prior to the following Fall
College
Term
Students interested
in pursuing public communications careers have a new opportunity to win
a
scholarship to help them meet the expenses of higher education.
According to
the articles of our incorporation, we give scholarships ONLY to
students who
will be going into public communications. If your field of study is NOT
in this
area, please DO NOT apply.
The Senior
Scribes’ Scholarship Program has expanded its eligibility requirements
for
communications-oriented seniors and former scholarship recipients.
Deadline for
former recipients to apply is February 1 of the preceding school year.
Any senior
living in Darke County, attending a Darke County School, or previous
Senior
Scribes’ Scholarship recipient, who is interested/majoring in
journalism,
public relations, education, radio or television broadcasting, graphic
design,
web design and/or Internet communications is eligible to apply. Among
the
eligibility requirements are grades, community service and activities
in which
you have participated in your chosen field.
The Senior
Scribes would be especially interested in seeing applications from high
school
seniors currently working with The Teen Scribes program, Greenville
Public
Access Television, school newsletters and yearbooks and those who have
been
actively reporting on the activities of various student groups and
organizations.
The Senior
Scribes have provided a total of over $11,000 in scholarships.
