Pepcon
makes sizable donation
Friends of
the Shelter... Pepcon
makes sizable donation May 10,
2012
Fred
Poeppelman, Vice President of Pepcon Concrete in Versailles, has made a sizable
donation of concrete toward the new “Dog Park” in Darke County.
The Darke
County “Friends of the Shelter”, an arm of the Darke County Animal Shelter are
in the process of building a new “Dog Park” for the canine citizens of Darke
County. The new Park will be located just South of the Darke County Animal
Shelter on County Home Road. It will be open to all residents of the County.
The County Commissioners have given the Friends of the Shelter access to the
land to build the Park. The park will be
roughly 2.5 acres and will be divided into a small dog area and a large dog
area. It will be fully enclosed with a 6-foot chain link fence and will also
have water available. There will be a walking path in each enclosure, along
with benches. Vehicle parking will also be available.
The Park is
being funded through donations, grants and public support. No County tax money
will be used for the park. The cost of the park will be around $30,000 and over
1/2 of the money has been raised. Pepcon Concrete has made the new Dog Park one
step closer to reality.
If you
would like to donate toward the park, you can make checks payable to the “The
Darke County Friends of the Shelter” and mail or drop it off at the Darke
County Animal Shelter.
We hope to have the Dog Park open by year’s
end, and would like to thank Pepcon for the generous donation.
