Greenville BPW
Club’s Program on ‘Body – Mind – Spirit!’
Greenville, OH. The Individual Development Program (IDP)
Committee of the Greenville Business & Professional Women’s (BPW)
Club hosted the November 8th meeting which was held at the Brethren
Retirement Center.
IDP Chair Jane Carroll and committee members Rebecca Zeedyk, Leigh
Fletcher and Marilyn Fletcher planned the meeting that featured two
speakers who spoke on The Quest for Health and how to create a safe and
healthy home. The first speaker Liz Sanchez, a cardiology
physician’s assistant and yoga instructor, conducts a workshop entitled
‘Yoga for Weight Loss’. She gave an energetic presentation on
being responsible for our own health. She emphasizes starting to
calm your mind which will lead to a calm body and highly recommends
meditation on a daily basis. Liz went over steps to elicit the
relaxation response. She closed her program discussing the
symptoms of heart disease in women.
Stephanie Green, RDH Marketing Executive for Melaleuca, the Wellness
Company covered indoor air pollution awareness and how to create a safe
and healthy home. Many ordinary household cleaners and products
contain toxins and chemicals that are harmful to everyone in the
home. Green gave some examples of studies where toxic chemicals
are causing harm such as household cleaners being ingested by children
causing 3 million poisonings every year. Stephanie had examples
of the Melaleuca products and told how they are used in the home to
promote good health.
The Club is working on their upcoming fundraiser ‘Breakfast with
Santa’. This event is scheduled for December 15, 2012 at 9:00 AM
