Kiwanis Programs You May Have Missed

November 21 – Pictured… Gary Brown presented Kristy Cutarelli from FISH with a check and a large number of food donations.  Kristy explained that their clientele has increased 19% since last year.  They need both monetary and food donations during a  time when many people cannot afford to give even though there are more in need. 

November 14 – Students of the Month for October were Raymond “Thor” J. Swartout V and Alyssa Garber.  Thor is a Cadet Master Chief in the high school's Naval Junior Reserve Training Corps and played varsity football.  His parents are Raymond  J. Swartout IV & Shonda Swartout and mother Christine Clabaugh.  Alyssa belongs to Future Farmers of America, Spanish and SADD Clubs, and is an office aide.  Extra-curricular activities include the German Baptist Youth Group, Toys for Tots, Operation Christmas Child, Mitten Tree, March of Dimes, and Adopt-a-Highway.  Her parents are Phillip & Coreen Garber.  GHS Principle Ken Neff spoke about each student.   

November 7 – Program Chair Dale Musser's guest Sam Custer, OSU Extension Educator, gave a Power Point presentation describing the mission, values, and services of the OSU Extension Office which focuses on economic, environmental, leadership, youth, and family issues.  More info available at www.darke.osu.edu.  The Club's new banner was displayed. 

October 31 – Program Chair Mike Stegall's guest Dan Franz spoke about Turtle Creek, the newly opened golf course, clubhouse, and restaurant which used to be the Country Club.  He explained his desire to keep this community asset viable and available to the public.  More info can be found at www.tutlecreekon36.com.  Guest Diane Delaplane and birthday Ryan Gathard. 

Kiwanis is a community service organization that meets every Wednesday at noon at the Chestnut Village Center, Brethren Retirement Community. Membership is open to any individual wishing to enjoy great fellowship while serving his or her community. Kiwanis also sponsors the local Greenville High School Key Club, a student led community service organization.
