needed for Candlelight
Dinners
Are
you interested in assisting
with the Candlelight Dinners on the Prairie in the Log House? We are in need
of volunteers to donate food,
cook over the hearth and lots more!
The
dates for the 2012 dinners are Friday, October 19th at 6PM, Saturday,
October
27th at 6PM, and Saturday, November 10th at 5PM.
For
the Candlelight Dinners we are
in need of the following items: venison, ham, turkey, green beans,
corn, rice,
onions, carrots, tomato paste, chicken broth, Apple Cider and Sparkling
Cider.
If
you are interested and free to
assist on any of the above dates we will be having a prep team and a
dinner
team again this year, allowing everyone to not feel over-worked.
Prep
Team will be arriving at noon
(11AM on November 10th) at Shawnee Prairie and work until 5PM (4 PM on
November
10th). Duties of
the Prep Team consist
of cooking/preparing all foods, maintaining fires, setting the tables,
and
placing luminaries down the blacktop path.
No need to wear period-attire, just be
ready to prepare foods and cook
over open fires and assist where needed.
Dinner
Team will be arriving at 5
PM (4PM on November 10th) dressed in period-attire and ready to take
prep team
places. Tasks which
will be completed
during this time include: warming food bowls, keeping all foods warm
(hopefully
all cooked already), and place foods on serving plates/ bowls, serve
food,
clean main dishes, serve dessert and then clean up Log House. All extra
food and
dirty dishes will be brought up the Nature Center at the end of the
night.
