Harry
D. Stephens Memorial Trust Funds Benefit The Community
Darke
County Center for the Arts is grateful to have received funding from
the summer
distribution of the Harry D. Stephens Memorial trust fund. These monies will be used
to help underwrite
the costs of presenting high quality performing artists in Darke County
for the
2012/2013 season.
According
to Julie Strait, “DCCA counts itself very fortunate to be in a
community that
values the arts, and is sincerely thankful for the generosity of the
Harry D.
Stephens Memorial trust fund and its commitment to enhancing the
quality of
life in our community through the arts.”
The
2012/2013 season officially started in July with a Barbecue and Blues
fundraiser
at Turtle Creek Golf Course, however, this weekend marks the beginning
of the
Artists Series programming with guitar maestro Tommy Emmanuel at St.
Clair
Memorial Hall. Visit
DCCA’s website at www.CenterForArts.net
for more information and a complete listing of events.
Distributions
from the Harry D. Stephens Memorial trust fund are made in June and
December
each year and only the interest income from the fund can be distributed
for
charitable, educational, scientific, literary and/or religious purposes. Trust Fund Committee
members include Peter
Hemer, Jennifer Bish, Dr. Michael Fourman, Alan Greiner, and Dianna
Wagner.
