Rollin’ 50’s Classic Car Show
A Blast to the
Past
By Naiesha Thobe, Teen Scribe
Greenville's annual Rollin' 50's Classic Car Show was hosted Saturday
on Broadway. The car show hit its 30th year this year, but the many
years dedicated to showing off cars has not drained the excitement that
the city feels for it. The Fall Cruise-In lasted from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.
and attracted visitors of all shapes and sizes.
Both sides of Broadway were lined with vehicles, some clearly
historical while some were newer. There were not only cars, but other
vehicles as well, to please the people who have an interest in
motorcycles and such vehicles.
There was entertainment as well, only of the more audible kind. There
was music playing at intervals throughout the day and little 'contests'
of sort… if you're wearing glasses, you can win free fries from
McDonald's! That type of entertainment kept people on their toes,
whether it was through dancing or running to collect a ticket for free
friends.
There was also a Harley raffle, a half-and-half drawing, and a food
stand to keep people busy when they wanted to take a break from looking
at all of the cars.
The weather may have been chilly, but the rain had passed through the
day before, and it was clear that Greenville still takes pride in its
annual Fall Cruise-In.
