Kids need
scholarships… can you help?

While the final determinations have yet to be made, the Senior Scribes
Scholarship Fund is anticipating more than $13,000 in scholarship
donations in 2013. Most of the funding is coming through the generosity
of individuals and CNO Annual, Display and Business Sponsors.
Last month the Senior Scribes Scholarship Fund celebrated its fifth
year of existence and in January, County News Online celebrated its
second year online. Together, SSSF and its fundraising arm, CNO, have
provided $24,000 in scholarships through the generosity of the Darke
County community.
Each year, as college and living expenses grow, so does the financial
need for college-bound students. For the first time, our 2013
scholarship requests nearly exceeded funds available. While we
anticipate meeting those needs once again, it will be a tight year.
Can you help?
Donating
has never been easier. County News Online has recently completed the
verification process for PayPal donations. You will find donation
buttons on the Home Page and some topic pages. If you have a PayPal
account you know what to do. If you don’t, you can still use your
credit card. Just follow the easy steps PayPal provides for you. All
transactions provide the security for which PayPal has been noted as an
industry leader.
In the near future we hope to have donation buttons on all topic and story pages, as well as options for monthly donations.
Of course you can always send your donation in any amount to County
News Online, PO Box 1113, Greenville, OH 45331.
As a fundraising arm of SSSF, a 501c3 not-for-profit organization, all
net proceeds go to scholarships for Darke County youth.
Plenty of display space is still available for businesses wishing to
offer their services and products to over 30,000 unique visitors every
month. Billing is quarterly and can be paid through PayPal or by check.
Use the Contact tab at the top of any page to let us know of your
interest.
New from CNO… Annual sponsors donating $100 or more, or any Display
Sponsor, will receive a frameable 8x10 digital print of a sports photo
or Ackley cartoon of their choice. The photo will include a “Thank you
for supporting Darke County teens” from County News Online.
There are currently 30 individuals and businesses supporting CNO and
its goal of helping all students seeking financial scholarship aid.
