Share a little time in your life 

You’ve gained a lifetime of experience.  Now is the time to put your skills and talents to good use by volunteering through the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) in Darke County. 

With the RSVP program older adults aged 55 and better choose how and where to serve and also the amount of time you want to give.  We help you find the opportunity that’s just right for you to not only help others but help yourself, because volunteering also leads to new discoveries and new friends. 

The following is a list of new opportunities that are available: 

HELP SENIORS RECEIVE MEALS 

The Meals on Wheels continues to serve a need in Darke County, working with an all-volunteer staff.  They need drivers and substitute drivers to pick up meals and deliver them to designated seniors within a three mile radius of Greenville.  Drivers should be ready with a kind word and friendly greeting for each recipient.  Training will be provided by an experienced driver who will accompany you on your first deliver.  Help feed our seniors that need a hot meal. 

RETIREMENT COMMUNITY WITH LOTS OF OPPORTUNITIES 

The Brethren Retirement Community has a wide variety of volunteer jobs; just to name a few:  transporting residents in wheel chairs, assisting with computer use, working in gift shop, playing the piano, clerical work.  These opportunities are changing all the time and scheduling is flexible according to your availability.  You can brighten a senior’s day in a variety of ways. .
