First
United Methodist Church
Good
named First UMC’s Director of Contemporary
Worship
New Contemporary Service to Begin Easter
Sunday, March 31
Nick
Good, former lead singer of the popular
local group “Gone Tomorrow,” has been named Greenville First United
Methodist’s
new Contemporary Worship Director.
As
Worship Director, Nick’s responsibilities will include recruiting and
leading
the worship band, running practices, determining music choices for
Sunday
worship and other special services, and leading the Contemporary
Service
congregation in worship of God through song.
A
graduate of Greenville High School, Nick is
employed as an Outside Sales Rep with the Neff Company, with a
territory that
extends to 22 Ohio counties and 10 counties in West Virginia. His music
background is extensive: aside from his more recent involvement with
“Gone
Tomorrow,” he was a four year member of Wavaires while in high school,
went to
Bowling Green State University with a vocal music scholarship, and for
the last
several years has been singing and playing guitar both in and out of
churches
as well as other venues. He is currently the Worship Leader at Eaton
United
Methodist Church, but has been praying for an opportunity to serve
Christ here in
Greenville where he and his family reside. Both He and his wife, the
former
Shanna Lockman, are very happy to have found an answer to that prayer.
They and
their two children, Carson and Ava, are very pleased and excited to
become a
part of the family of Greenville First. Nick and Shanna’s love of Jesus
Christ
and His Church are evident and all four will be a welcome addition to
this
United Methodist congregation. Nick looks forward to using this
opportunity as
an avenue through which he can share the love of God with a broad
spectrum of
people of all ages here in Greenville and in Darke County.
For
many generations, Greenville First had been
known for its use of innovation to reach the citizens of Darke County
with the unchanging
message of the Good News.
Today, the
church once again claims that spirit of
innovation and determination to reach ALL generations for Christ.
Traditional
worship with pipe
organ, choir, and classic hymns of
faith will continue to be offered at 9:30 AM on Sundays.
And
now, beginning on March 31st, Easter
Sunday, at 11AM, Greenville First is very pleased to offer this new
contemporary worship service to the community.
Greenville
First United Methodist Church exists
as a community whose mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ by
sharing
God’s love with all people and ministering to their needs. The
church is located on the corner of
Fourth and Sycamore Streets in Greenville.
