Darke County Veterans Inducted
into Ohio
Military Hall of Fame
COLUMBUS—
Today, State Representatives Jim
Buchy (R-Greenville) attended the 14th annual induction
ceremony for The
Ohio Military Hall of Fame for Valor at the Statehouse, where he
presented
commendations to Vietnam Veteran Robert Carr, of Hollansburg, and WWII
Veteran
Dale Marker, of Greenville, for their inductions.
This
year’s class included representatives from
the U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps who
served during
World War II, as well as the conflicts in Korea, Vietnam and the Middle
East.
“These
remarkable Ohioans have all gone above
and beyond the call of duty and performed heroically in combat,” Rep.
Buchy
said. “I thank them for their service and their dedication to
America.”
The
Ohio Military Hall of Fame for Valor was
established in 2000 to recognize Ohio servicemen and women who were
decorated
for heroism while in combat situations. To date, 238 service
members have
been inducted. More information regarding the inductees and the hall of
fame
can be found at www.ohioheroes.org.
