Attends Event to Prepare for 2014
COLUMBUS,
OHIO – Lyn
Bliss a local resident joined other Republican women leaders from
across the state recently at the Ohio Federation of Republican
Women’s (OFRW) Annual Fall Conference, which focused on judicial
concerns and leadership training.
Bliss is
secretary of the
Darke County Republican Women’s Club, First Vice-president of the
Ohio Federation of Republican Women, and serves on the Board of
Directors of the National Federation of Republican Women.
During
the two-day event,
which was one of the largest statewide gatherings of Republican Women
this year, registrants were addressed by Ohio Supreme Court Justice
Sharon Kennedy and Jeanne Bolton. Bolton is president of the Licking
County Women’s Republican Club and presented leadership ideas and
guidelines. The event on Friday night included a Board of Directors’
meeting and a social hour for the “Slate Party” where the
nominated officers were introduced.
At the
Saturday Conference,
the OFRW elected its officers for the upcoming 2014 and 2015 years,
unanimously selecting President Lyn Bliss (Darke County Republican
Women’s Club), First Vice-president Linda Burke (Warren County
Republican Women's Club), Treasurer Mary Beth Kemmer (Miami County
Women's Republican Club), Secretary Lauri Hart (Hamilton County
Republican Women's Club), Central District Vice-president Jeanne
Bolton (Licking County Women's Republican Club), East District
Vice-president Risė Roach (Muskingum County Women's Republican
Club), Northeast District Vice-president Kathi Creed (Warren
Republican Women's Club), Northwest District Vice-president Wendy
Jackson (Sandusky County Republican Women's Club), South District
Vice-president Wanda Curtis (Morgan County Republican Women's Club)
and Southwest District Vice-president Missy Mae Walters (Ohio
Republican Women On-line). The officers-elect were administered their
Oath of Office by Justice Kennedy, and will serve beginning January
1, 2014.

to attend the activities it sponsors.” said Bliss. “Justice
Kennedy is a dedicated and talented jurist – we were so very lucky
to hear from her!”
Founded
in 1929, the OFRW
has hundreds of active members in local clubs across the state of
Ohio, making it one of the largest women’s political organizations
in the state. The grassroots organization works to promote the
principles and objectives of the Republican Party, elect Republican
candidates, inform the public through political education and
activity, and increase the effectiveness of women in the cause of
good government.
