WIA Summer Youth Recognized
Achieving
decent work is essential
not only for young people, but for a community’s stability and growth. This summer in Darke
County the WIA Youth
Program facilitated a work experience for two youth in a summer
training
program that helped to break down some of the barriers and create
positives for
their future. The
host work/mentoring
sites of Community Action Partnership, Darke County YMCA and Council on
Rural
Services proved that working with youth is very worthwhile for all
involved.
The
work program consisted of six
weeks of mentoring that gave Caitlyn Baily and Kristy Nicholson new
skills,
work experience, and letters of reference for the future. Congratulations to these
two young people for
their hard work and the companies that gave them the chance to prove
themselves.
