Boehner
Welcomes Dayton-Springfield Community Leaders
Dayton
Development Coalition Celebrating its 30th Annual Washington Fly-In
WASHINGTON,
DC - Congressman John Boehner (R-West Chester) yesterday welcomed
more than 100 corporate executives, local government officials,
educators, and economic development professionals from the
Dayton-Springfield area to Capitol Hill. Local community leaders
traveled to the nation's capital for the Dayton Development
Coalition's 30th Annual Dayton Community Leader Washington Fly-In.
The
fly-in is part of the coalition’s broader mission to help educate
the local community as well as promote an ongoing exchange of ideas
with Washington officials about current federal issues involving the
Dayton region.
Boehner
highlighted some of the House’s accomplishments over the last six
months, including the passage of a budget agreement as well as
movement towards restoring the traditional appropriations process.
The following is an excerpt of his remarks:
“We’re
on track to actually move our appropriations bills in regular order
in both the House and the Senate this year.
“I
will make sure that we do these individual appropriations bills
because it’s the place where members can best represent their
constituents, and it’s our best opportunity to represent all of you
and the interests of the Dayton region.”
