Children and Families in Hospital on Christmas Eve

COLUMBUS—State senators from the Miami Valley region will spend a
portion of their Christmas Eve visiting and delivering presents for
patients, families and staff at Dayton Children’s Hospital.
Doctors at Dayton Children’s Hospital do their best to shorten the
length of stays for patients any time of the year, especially during
the holidays. Healthcare providers and staff diligently assess patients
to determine whether they can be safely released and able spend the
holidays at home with their families.
“As a parent who has spent the holidays with my own son at Children’s,
I have a sincere appreciation for the work that Dayton Children’s
Hospital does to care for our kids all year long. I am particularly
grateful for the committed hospital physicians and staff that spend
time away from their own families to care for others during this time
of year,” said State Senator Chris Widener (R-Springfield).
Senator Widener will be joined by Senators Bill Beagle (R-Tipp City),
Peggy Lehner (R- Kettering), and Bill Coley (R-Liberty Township).
“My wife, Karen, and I have always been impressed by Children’s
Hospital and have known them to be among the most outstanding
caregivers. We are always amazed how they are able to provide such a
comforting atmosphere even when the circumstances are difficult. I am
happy to bring a little cheer to their excellent staff on Christmas
Eve,” said Beagle.
The annual visit will take place Wednesday, December 24 at noon,
beginning in the Main
Lobby of Children’s Hospital located at One Children’s Plaza in Dayton.
