Emrick elected BPA
secretary
Logan Emrick, a junior Supply Chain Management student at Greenville
Career Technical Center High School, was elected Secretary for Business
Professionals of America, Ohio Association at its annual Fall
Leadership Conference on Wednesday, November 19, at the Greater
Columbus Convention Center.
As a member of the 2014-2015 Ohio Association State Officer Team, Ms.
Emrick will travel to Columbus for monthly leadership training sessions
to enhance and extend her leadership skills that resulted in her
election to the six-member leadership team. With the assistance of
State Advisor Barbara Trent, the officer team will plan and conduct
ceremonies at the State Leadership Conference March 11-13, 2015, and at
the 2015 Fall Leadership Conference. According to Ms. Trent, “Logan
exhibited exceptional leadership abilities during officer candidate
screening in October and during candidate speeches and campaigning
during the conference. She is well equipped to provide leadership for
the Ohio Association. “
“The electoral process from local to Regionals to State has been an
effective learning tool for the entire Supply Chain Management
program,” reports Mrs. Dara Buchy. “We were thrilled to bring all 32
SCM students to witness Logan’s speech and her installation to office!”
To be eligible to seek state office, a BPA member must first
demonstrate her skills at the local and regional levels. In addition to
her state responsibilities, Logan is social chairperson for her local
chapter, a Region 3 executive board member, a member of the science
club.
More than 1,500 BPA members, representing Ohio BPA’s 19 regions,
attended the 2014 Fall Leadership Conference. In addition to the
election of officers, students participated in professional development
workshops, choosing from 17 workshop options. Workshops were designed
to increase academic and leadership skills that are a part of the
students’ career-technical education programs at their high schools and
career centers.
In addition to her Business Professionals of America responsibilities,
Logan volunteers for various community service projects through her SCM
program, coaches youth volleyball, plays Varsity Volleyball.
