EUM Church of
Greenville Receives Grant Supporting Free Tax Services
Greenville – Free tax filing assistance through The Ohio Benefit Bank™
will once again be available at NextStep Ministries, an Outreach of EUM
Church. Thanks to a grant from the Ohio Association of Foodbanks, home
of The Ohio Benefit Bank, NextStep Ministries, will be able to expand
tax filing services for the 2014-2015 tax season.
“The 2015 Ohio Benefit Bank Tax Capacity Building Grant will truly
benefit our organization by helping to provide additional computer
equipment, office supplies and increased marketing tools enabling us to
reach more clients” stated Kristy Cutarelli, Outreach Ministries
Coordinator for EUM Church.
The Ohio Benefit Bank (OBB™) is an innovative online service that
connects Ohioans with more than 20 work support programs and tax
credits, including the Earned Income Tax Credit, child tax credits, and
education credits. Ohioans can visit sites like NextStep Ministries to
file their federal and state taxes for free with a trained counselor,
or they can file on their own at www.ohiobenefits.org. NextStep
Ministries provides outreach to the Darke County area through many
ministries of EUM Church and partnerships with other local
organizations.
In 2014, NextStep Ministries served 336 residents of Darke and
surrounding counties. This year, they hope to expand services to offer
the free tax services to 345 residents.
Barb Baker, an Ohio Benefit Bank tax client for several years said “I
love the OBB. It’s fast, easy and the counselors help you
understand the tax procedures. They are very aware of the latest
rules. I highly recommend them to others.”
Residents interested in making an appointment to have their taxes filed
or complete other benefit applications through the OBB can call
937-547-9730 extension. Appointments are available Monday through
