Congratulates 2013 Military Service Academy Nominees on Academy
Appointments
WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman John Boehner (R-West Chester) today
congratulated the 8th District’s 2013 Service Academy Nominees on
receiving appointments to the United States Military Service
Academies. Congressman Boehner nominated the students for academy
appointments in December of 2013.
“One of my most important duties as a Member of Congress is nominating
a select group of young men and women from our local area to our elite
military service academies each year,” Boehner said. “It’s
individuals such as these who will go on to lead our country, and I’m
always so proud of them when they receive their appointments. I
offer my sincere congratulations and best wishes to those 2013 nominees
who just recently received their appointments.”
The following students were nominated by Congressman Boehner in
December of 2013 and recently received appointments as members of the
Class of 2018:
• Mitchell Dunlap, a Springfield, Ohio, resident who attended
Springfield High School, received an appointment to the U.S. Naval
Academy.
• Michael Geisecke, a New Carlisle, Ohio, resident who attended
Tecumseh High School, received an appointment to the U.S. Air Force
Academy.
• Zev Lustgarten, a Springfield, Ohio, resident who attended
Springfield High School, received an appointment to the U.S. Merchant
Marine Academy.
• Robert Mannier, a Troy, Ohio, resident who attended the Naval
Prep School, received an appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy.
• Scott Mayer, a West Chester, Ohio, resident who attended Lakota
West High School, received an appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy.
• Gerard Mirville, a West Chester, Ohio, resident who attended
St. Xavier High School, received an appointment to the U.S. Naval
Academy.
• Anthony Wieck, a West Chester, Ohio, resident who attended
LaSalle High School, received an appointment to U.S. Military Academy.
• Lousie Zhou, a West Chester, Ohio, resident who attended Summit
Country Day, received an appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy.
Every year, Congressman Boehner may nominate a certain number of
students from the 8th District for appointments to the U.S. Military
Service Academies.
To be considered for a 2014 Military Service Academy nomination from
Congressman Boehner, applications must be submitted to Congressman
Boehner’s Butler County District Office no later than Friday, October
31, 2014. For additional information, constituents may contact
