High School Graduate Earns Environmental Scholarship
GREENVILLE,
Ohio—July 1, 2014— Recent Greenville High School graduate Jalena
LeMaster earned the Rumpke Darke County Scholarship for her
commitment to environmental protection and sustainability.
LeMaster
plans to attend The Ohio State University in the fall and major in
Agricultural Engineering. She was captain of the school dance team, a
member of National Honor Society and volunteer at Western Buckeye
Christian Service Camp.
“I
will be a part of a growing trend through engineering cheaper, more
productive, and better methods for environmental approaches to
farming.” LeMaster wrote in an essay. “I want to help create new
and innovative ways to help not only our country, but the rest of the
world.”
Since
2010, Rumpke has presented the award annually to one graduating
senior in Darke County. Rumpke has operated a transfer station and
truck depot in Greenville since 1989 and employs drivers, mechanics,
equipment operators and office personnel.
