CBC donors get chance to cruze at Eldora Blood Drive

DARKE CO., Ohio - Donors can help boost the summer blood supply, win tickets to some of the hottest dirt track races of the season, and possibly jump behind the wheel of a new Chevy Cruze – all at the annual Community Blood Center (CBC) Eldora Speedway Blood Drive, Thursday, June 19 from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Eldora Speedway Ballroom, 13929 State Route 118, New Weston. Donors are encouraged to schedule an appointment at www.DonorTime.com.

The Eldora Speedway blood drive will again feature special refreshments in the Donor Café and several dirt track door prizes! Everyone who registers to donate could win one of the 13 pairs of select Eldora Speedway race tickets up for grabs. The luckiest donors will claim the grand prize of a pair of Kings Royal race tickets or racing merchandise signed by star NASCAR driver and Eldora owner Tony Stewart. The 31st annual Kings Royal weekend is July 11-12.

CBC has honored Eldora Speedway as a Platinum recipient of the LifeSaving Ambassadors Club for blood drive excellence in 2013. “We’re proud to be part of the community supporting this great cause,” said Eldora Speedway Director of Operations Larry Boos.

This summer the hottest wheels up for grabs aren’t on the Eldora track. A 2014 Chevrolet Cruze is the grand prize in the CBC “Summer Cruze-In 2014 Blood Drive.” Everyone age 18 and older who registers to donate will be automatically entered in the drawing to win the Chevy Cruze, valued at approximately $19,000.

CBC is making two exciting changes to its traditional summer blood drive campaign. The campaign has been extended to four months (May 30 through Sept. 30). In addition, eligible donors can now double their chances of winning. Eligible donors will be entered into the drawing a second time when they register for a second donation during the blood drive period. Official rules are available at www.givingblood.org.

The tradition of summer Parrot Head celebrations continues at CBC. Everyone who registers to donate will receive the “Donoritaville – Relax, lei back… Givin’ is easy!” t-shirt. The tropical-colored t-shirt design features a parrot in straw hat and lei clutching an ice cream cone. The Donoritaville t-shirt is CBC’s donor gift from June 16 through Aug. 2 and all CBC Donor Center and most CBC mobile blood drives.

The Eldora Speedway Blood Drive takes place Thursday, June 19 at the Eldora Speedway Ballroom, 13929 St. Rt. 118 in New Weston, OH. Hours are 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and appointments are encouraged.
