Boehner
announces STEM winners
WASHINGTON,
DC - Congressman John Boehner (R-West Chester) today announced the
8th District winners for the first-annual Congressional Science,
Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Competition.
“I’m
so pleased that we had students from our local area participate in
the first-annual Congressional STEM Competition,” Boehner said. “Our
winners from the 8th District are among the brightest and most
creative young minds, and I couldn’t be prouder of their work.”
In
this year’s competition, the House “App” Contest, high school
students designed and exhibited a software application, or “app,”
for mobile, tablet, or computer devices. The winning entry, the
Cryptographer, was submitted by Ross High School Seniors Samuel
Hickenlooper, Tyler Johnson, and Alexander Maurits.
The
Congressional STEM Competition is a nationwide competition that was
established by Members of the U.S. House of Representatives in 2013.
