Last
Friday, U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown joined students, parents, and
faculty at Edison Community College’s 39th spring commencement
ceremony, where he served as keynote speaker.
“Use
your Edison education, your determination and grit, and make it your
responsibility to ensure that Ohioans, no matter their zip code, can
succeed,” said Sen. Brown. “As Edison graduates, you are capable
of many great things, and I know you will continue to astound us for
years to come. Congratulations class of 2014. You have already made
Ohio proud.”
Edison
Community College was chartered in 1973 as the first state general
and technical college in Ohio. The College was chartered as a
two-year, public, coeducational, state-supported institution of
higher learning offering studies in the arts and sciences, technical
education, and adult continuing education. Since 1973, Edison has
served more than 71,000 students and 9,796 graduates.
