Upper Valley CC
students Experience Edison
Over 280 Upper Valley Career Center students were on Edison Community
College’s Piqua Campus on Friday, October 24 for the inaugural
Experience Edison event. The junior and senior classes of Upper Valley
CC toured the campus, participated in information sessions, and engaged
in breakout sessions, which highlighted the College’s various fields of
study.
“This Experience Edison event was initiated to help strengthen our
partnership with Upper Valley Career Center,” said Stacey Bean,
Enrollment Manager at Edison. “I look forward to seeing this
partnership grow and the event to continue each year.”
During their visit, students learned about the services available on
campus, which covered such topics as financial aid, transfer
opportunities, and career services.
Upper Valley CC students also participated in their choice of two
hands-on breakout sessions, which included such programs as
Electronics, Engineering, Electrical Trades, Computer Information
Technology, Early Childhood Education, Exercise Science, Interactive
Media, Medical Information Management and Medical Technology.
“It was clear that the students really enjoyed their time on campus,”
added Bean.
Also highlighted during the day were the unique pathways that have been
developed specifically for Upper Valley CC students. These
opportunities provide students with a direct pathway from Upper Valley
CC to Edison, allowing them to make optimal use of their time and money
spent on education.
