Christmas and a Great 2016
As
County News Online has done in years past, it will cease nightly
updates until Monday, Jan. 4, 2016. Obituaries will continue to be
posted daily; sporting events will typically be posted within 24 hours
of the event. Breaking news as well as events scheduled during that
time frame will also be posted in a timely manner.
Mail Chimp will be sent out as required by circumstances, however the
best way to keep up-to-date on new postings is to check CNO’s Facebook
pages: BobRobinson-CNO, County News Online Community and Empowering
Darke County Youth. Invite your friends to like and share these pages
with their friends.
County News Online is a fundraising arm of the Senior Scribes
Scholarship Fund. In 2015 SSSF awarded 12 scholarships to Darke County
youth. Eight of those were due to support from CNO donors, sponsors and
business partners.
“Seven years. Forty youth. $56,000,” said Elaine Bailey, President of
the Senior Scribes Scholarship Fund, at a recent Kiwanis of Greenville
meeting. This has been the track record of SSSF since it began awarding
scholarships in 2008.
Reader support has taken CNO past the nine million page views and one
million unique visitors mark… this success can be attributed to all of
you: readers, volunteers, donors, sponsors and supporting
organizations. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts and hope you
will continue supporting our objectives and our youth in 2016.
