Andersons gives
$50,001 grant for new Beef & Dairy Barn
GREENVILLE – The Andersons Inc. presented a gift of $25,001 to The
Darke County Agricultural Society on Jan. 23 and provided the community
with an opportunity to help turn the total amount into $75,001.
“We are extremely thankful to The Andersons for their gift of $50,001,”
said Daryl Riffle, Darke County Fair Manager. “We’ve received $25,001
and can get the community involved for another $25,000 in a matching
grant.” The Society will turn to the community to raise $25,000; once
raised it will be matched with another $25,000 from The Andersons. When
the community has done its part, “that will be $75,001 we didn’t have
before,” said Riffle. The money is to be used for the Beef & Dairy
Barn Building Fund.
Andersons employee Janelle Brinksneader said they had talked about how
they could help the community. “We reached out to our foundation about
opportunities,” she said. “The home office takes an interest in what
