Darke County in
photographs: 2014
Darke County is rich in history. From the two Civil War heroes who
received the Medal of Honor to the county’s most recent honoree,
Vietnam Veteran Pfc. Douglas E. Dickey; from Darke County’s famous
daughter, Annie Oakley, to the signing of the Treaty of GreeneVille;
from historic Bears Mill to its nationally recognized Garst Museum; to
the unmatched natural splendor of its parks system, then of course, The
Great Darke County Fair… Darke County has much of which to be proud.
Each year offers a new unveiling of history, new accomplishments, new
events, new recognition of the area’s past and its future. County News
Online is proud to offer an overview of 2014: it’s events, its youth,
recognition of its heritage and its future in a new set of photos.
Plan to take a little time to check out more than 250 photos featuring
local events, activities, youth and the accomplishments of young and
old… a small snapshot of local history. The photo set is the latest
offering of CNO’s Community Events Photo Gallery. Select the link under
Community or click here.
This photo set is offered with thanks to The Early Bird and Bluebag
Media. Most were taken while on assignment; the stories they represent
(and hundreds of other stories from 2014) can be found here.
Check out CNO’s new photo set; then go to Bluebag Media for the stories
behind them.
