Midmark 100 Year
Anniversary Exhibit at Versailles Museum
Displaying artifacts of the company’s history
DAYTON, Ohio, Jan. 23, 2015 — Midmark Corporation today announced the
opening of an exhibit on Feb. 8, 2015 at the Versailles Area Historical
Museum in Versailles, Ohio to commemorate 100 years of business. The
museum is located at 552 S. West Street in Versailles at the corner of
Marker Road/State Route 121.
On display at the museum will be artifacts, photos and articles that
tell the story of Midmark’s extensive past; artifacts such as the first
model of a medical exam table purchased from the American Metal
Furniture Company in 1967 to the animatronic sterilizer character
“Sterile Errol” who welcomed customers to the product showroom in the
early 1990s. Other items to be featured include current Midmark
products, past and present promotional marketing materials and
nostalgic items that were donated by company employees. The exhibit
will also showcase some of the key characters of the surrounding
communities who played a part in the expansion of the business from its
foundation in Minster, Ohio in 1915 to its current presence in
Versailles, Ohio as well as seven domestic and four international
locations.
“We are both excited and humbled to be able to share our history at the
museum this year,” stated Anne Eiting Klamar, M.D., president and CEO.
“The success of our first 100 years would not be possible without the
gracious support of our customers and partnerships, hardworking and
compassionate teammates and communities.”
The Versailles Area Historical Museum is free of charge, though
donations are appreciated, and is open to the public every Sunday from
1 p.m. to 4 p.m. February through December. The museum focuses on the
history of the Versailles community and contains over twenty display
rooms featuring the history of the area, including all the villages in
the Versailles school district plus bordering towns Osgood and Russia.
Some collections include the history of Versailles schools, the
military and the community, and a dedication to the Versailles fire of
1901 that destroyed most of downtown. Its newest exhibit, On the Farm,
showcases the evolution of farming, displaying farm tools that date
back to the late 1800s. The Midmark 100th Anniversary exhibit will
remain on display until October 11, 2015.
