Over half of GJHS
students achieve A.C.E. status
GREENVILLE – “Each student begins the school year as an A.C.E.” This is
the message a little over 400 students entering Greenville Junior High
School for seventh and eighth grades receive from teachers and
administrators. According to Tiffany Fine, GJHS Intervention
Specialist, it is a behavioral incentive program standing for Attitude,
Choice and Effort.
“We believe every student at Greenville Junior High School can be an
A.C.E.,” she said. This is the reason they begin the school year on
that level. “It is the student’s choice to remain an A.C.E.,” she added.
Of the 400 plus students at the junior high in School Year 2014-15, 198
students had zero discipline referrals the entire year. Add to that
another dozen who made a poor choice at one point but took advantage of
an opportunity to regain their status, and more than half of the
student body achieved A.C.E. or comparable status.
Their reward? A cookout and a dance on the last day of school...
