MVCTC Agriculture and Livestock Production students received their State FFA Degree
May 1, 2015, in Columbus, Ohio at the last session of the Ohio FFA State Convention.

MVCTC students receive State FFA degrees

Englewood, Ohio – The Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) had six students from the Agriculture and Livestock Production program receive their State FFA Degree May 1, 2015, in Columbus, Ohio at the last session of the Ohio FFA State Convention. Receiving their degrees were:

Hunter Alsip, Valley View, the son of Brenda Alsip of Germantown.
Dylan Browder, Versailles, the son of Jeff and Susan Browder.
Amanda Goerndt, Miamisburg, the daughter of Scott and Lori Goerndt of Miamisburg.
Ryan Helton, Wayne, the son of Rick and Jennifer Helton of Huber Heights.
Charles Monnig, Valley View, the son of Christopher and Ann Monnig of Farmersville.
Brittany Taylor, Miami East, the daughter of Scott and Amy Taylor of Casstown.

These six individuals met or exceeded the requirements of the State FFA Degree which includes that they have their Chapter Degree, have participated in the MVCTC FFA Chapter activities, have a satisfactory Supervised Agricultural Experience, have completed at least 35-hours of Home Improvement and Community Service activities, have given a six-minute speech on an agricultural topic and demonstrated 10 abilities of parliamentary procedure. The candidates are also required to have at least 93% or better attendance or should have maintained a 3.00 GPA or higher while also conducting themselves in a manner to be a credit to the organization, the MVCTC Chapter, the school and the community. Congratulations to the State Degree winners on achieving the highest honor of the Ohio State FFA organization!

For over 40-years, MVCTC has been providing career technical education for 27 partner school districts encompassing five counties in Southwest Ohio.  MVCTC is dedicated to providing in-demand workforce training for youth, adults, and organizations in the Miami Valley.
